Dentures are removable artificial teeth and gums designed to replace missing teeth. They are custom-made to fit the shape of your mouth and are used to restore both the function and appearance of your smile. Dentures can be full, replacing all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, or partial, replacing just a few missing teeth. They help with eating, speaking, and maintaining the structure of your face, offering a comfortable and natural-looking solution for those with lost teeth.
There are two types of Dentures, Full and Partial Dentures.
At Smile Solutions Dental Group of Pembroke Pines & Hialeah we offer both.
Full dentures, also known as complete dentures, are removable prosthetic devices used to replace all of a person’s missing teeth in either the upper jaw (maxillary), lower jaw (mandibular), or both. They consist of a gum-colored acrylic base that supports a set of artificial teeth, usually made of acrylic or porcelain.
Full dentures restore function and appearance, helping with chewing, speech, and facial support. However, they require proper maintenance and periodic adjustments for comfort and function.
While full dentures provide many benefits, they require proper care, periodic adjustments, and may take some time to get used to.
Partial dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace one or more missing teeth when some natural teeth remain in the mouth. They help restore function, improve aesthetics, and prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of place.
They require proper cleaning and maintenance to prevent gum irritation and plaque buildup. Over time, they may need adjustments as the mouth changes.
